Day 1: Arrive Bangkok, Thailand Arrive in Bangkok, Thailand’s vibrant capital city where some of the world’s most extraordinary markets and cuisine meet with Buddhist temples and modern megamalls. Upon arrival, you are greeted by an A&K representative, who assists with expedited immigration and customs formalities. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok Day 2: Bangkok | Venice of the East Board a boat on the mighty Chao Phraya River, exploring traditional Thai klongs (canals) and glimpsing the still-active waterborne life of the residents of Nonthaburi, as seen from their stilted homes and floating bank barges. Next, visit the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), embedded with pieces of multi-colored porcelain that reflect the morning sun. After lunch, visit the extraordinary Grand Palace. Continue to an old Buddhist temple, the unseen small chapel enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree; inside the temple, discover life-size models of Thai boxers in different poses. Later, shop the Amphawa floating market, an authentic food market frequented by locals.
