Coolangatta

The township of Coolangatta derived its name from the wrecking of the schooner “Coolangatta” in 1846.

Coolangatta is situated on the northern bank of the Tweed River. It has several sandy beaches and has the hinterland as its backdrop. Tiger Moth and Helicopter joyflights are close by. Coolangatta’s major industry is tourism and is the southern most township of the Gold Coast.
