The Experience
Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is an exclusive retreat on one of the most remote and unspoiled islands of Fiji. Just 18 luxury bungalows are hidden among the palms, each just a few steps from a pristine white beach. Swim in crystal clear waters, dive on vividly colored corals, connect with an ancient culture or indulge in Fiji’s first beachfront spa. Whatever you choose to do at Yasawa, you’ll do it in complete seclusion.
English is widely spoken throughout Fiji and at the resort.
There are no banks or ATM machines on the island or in the villages. The resort does accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express.
Power in Fiji is 220-240 volts with a three pin flat plug. Plug adapters are sold in the resort boutique.
Complimentary wireless internet access is provided throughout the main complex, but we ask that you consider the experience of your fellow guests and refrain from using your electronic devices in the restaurant during meal times and in the bar when other guests are present.
Tipping is not a customary act in Fiji and resort management and staff are not permitted to accept gratuities directly. If you wish to thank the staff for their service and hospitality, a donation to the Staff Christmas Fund would be greatly appreciated. This consideration is not mandatory and entirely at your own discretion.
Bure (boor-ray) – it’s Fijian for Sanctuary. Our 18 traditionally thatched, beachfront bures are understated in their luxury. Hidden among the palms, each air-conditioned bure has a discreet outdoor shower; an expansive deck with daybeds to wile away the afternoons; a separate living area with mini bar and iPod docking station; a hammock strung between the palms; incredible views of the ocean, and your own thatched cabana with sun loungers on the edge of Yasawa’s famous white sand beach.
Yasawa might be an island of isolation, but it’s also an island of plenty. All meals are included in the tariff at Yasawa, promising contemporary cuisine at every sitting and an emphasis on the succulent seafood caught daily in surrounding waters. Our chef’s creations highlight the fresh produce that is delivered daily and sourced as much as possible from the surrounding villages on Yasawa Island. Variety abounds and menus change daily accenting the freshest, regional ingredients of the day. Dine at the restaurant, on the beach, in your bure or beneath the stars. The choice is yours.
Our Executive Chef and his team are committed to ensuring every guest has a memorable culinary experience at Yasawa. Due to our remote location though, it occasionally requires us to special order specific ingredients that cater to certain dietary requirements. If you have any specific requests for your dietary needs, please contact us prior to your stay with us so we can ensure we have what you require upon your arrival.
Solitude. It’s one of our favourite pastimes at Yasawa. So whatever you choose to do during your stay, you’ll be free to enjoy it in peace. Take a complimentary picnic on a deserted beach. Visit nearby villages to meet the local children or hear the church choir. Swim in the crystal waters of the famous Blue Lagoon or snorkel among corals and tropical fish. Do as much or as little as you choose.
All activities, except spa treatments, scuba diving and sports fishing, at Yasawa are included in the tariff.
