Belvedere Hotel

Situated in a premium location in the town of Mykonos Island, “Chora”.  Hotel guests have the privilege of residing in a luxurious, calm environment, savoring panoramic views over the white houses, the port of Chora and the Aegean Sea while being just a five-minute walk away from what Mykonos is all about:  energy and life.  Matoyanni Street is the most commercial and cosmopolitan street in Mykonos, where bars, restaurants and boutiques are at the disposal of guests.

Inaugurated in the summer of 1995, the Belvedere is constructed in the beautiful gardens of cypresses, bougainvilleas, wild laurels, and is in one of the oldest mansions in Mykonos, the Mansion Stoupa, dating from 1850.  The hotel has the form of a small traditional Cycladic village. The village comprises seven small buildings, resembling the houses of Chora; all arranged around an asymmetrical pool which overlooks Chora and its port.

Accommodations:

The hotel has 43 rooms including 8 suites spread throughout the seven buildings.  All the rooms and suites differ in size, view, and amenities.  Despite the differences in the rooms, there are some elements in common that characterize all the Belvedere rooms; good quality materials well integrated in the Cycladic Architecture such as marble, wood, steel, rocks, sand, rope peddles and sail fabric.

Standard Room: This room of 23m2 encompasses a queen bedroom including a beverage center with a built in full service bar trolley – dining table. The Standard room integrates a personal compact island terrace, with Mykonian Courtyard/Garden view.

New Standard Pool/Sea View room: This room of 23m2 encompasses a queen bedroom including a beverage center with a built in full service bar trolley – dining table. The Standard Pool/Sea View room integrates a personal compact island terrace with either Pool or Sea view.

Junior Suite: The Junior suite encompasses a king bedroom and a living room with a sofa, separated into two distinct rooms by an internal door. Good for both privacy and entertaining this spacious suite of 40m2 is located on the ground floor and offers Mykonian Courtyard / Garden view. All walls include a combination of plaster and marble niches, housing discreet technology features. A multifunctional millwork installation is separating the living room from the bathroom, integrating a beverage center with a built in freezer and ice machine, a recessed Tv station, a safe cabinet, a make up desk, a variety of drawers and a dining table. The bedroom balcony and island terrace of the living room are perfect for outdoor lounging and dining.

Superior Room: 26-27 sq meters of useful space. This room has an open floor plan with a king bedroom including a beverage center with a built in full service bar trolley – dining table. The Superior room integrates a personal compact island terrace with either Pool or Sea view perfect for outdoor lounging and dining.

Junior Pool/Sea View Suite: The Junior suite encompasses a king bedroom and a living room with a sofa, separated into two distinct rooms by an internal door. Good for both privacy and entertaining this spacious suite of 40m2 is located either on the ground floor and offers views to the Belvedere pool or on the first floor offering Sea view. All walls include a combination of plaster and marble niches, housing discreet technology features.  A multifunctional millwork installation is separating the living room from the bathroom, integrating a recessed Tv station. This suite has a beverage center with a built in freezer and ice machine, a safe cabinet, a make up desk, a variety of drawers and a dining table. The bedroom balcony and island terrace of the living room are perfect for outdoor lounging and dining.

Deluxe room: This room of 26m2 has an open floor plan with a king bedroom including a beverage center with a built in full service bar trolley – dining table & a dressing area. The Deluxe room is located on the first floor and integrates a personal compact island terrace 7-12 sq meters with extraordinary views to Mykonos town, the Aegean Sea and the Belvedere Pool perfect for outdoor lounging and dining (some rooms have both sun deck and shaded area).

Belvedere Suite: The Belvedere Suite is the signature accommodation of the Belvedere hotel and has either two separate rooms or an open floor plan with a king bedroom and a living room visually separated by a curved rosewood screen. In the open floor plan suite, an internal door and architectural panels are beautifully installed to easily isolate or unify the bedroom and living room according to your mood for privacy or entertaining. This spacious accommodation of 48-60m2 is located on the first floor and includes two terraces with spectacular views to Mykonos town, the Aegean Sea and the Belvedere Pool. The living room encompasses a sofa, a multifunctional millwork installation & integrates a beverage center with a built in freezer and ice machine feature, a Tv station, a safe cabinet, a variety of drawers and a dining table. The living room terrace is perfect for sunbathing and lounging. The Belvedere Suite features an oversized bathroom of 20m2 including a large shower plate, a free standing soaking tub and a comfortable dressing area with a handcraft decorative wall mirror.

Inspired by the Aegean Sea and the Mykonian white, each one of the Belvedere new generation rooms are filled with aquamarine accents of curved rosewood closets with sophisticated storage space, hand-cut marble mosaic with integrated housing for candle lighting, crystal ice marble surfaces and textiles with sensual textures and colours that are highlighted by the extraordinary Mykonian light. The crystal ice marble floorings incorporate stainless steel inset details that catch light and glow at night. The white Mykonian wood ceiling blends nicely with the plaster walls and integrates discrete spot lights together with some theatrical light fixtures. Lighting scenarios and “one touch” dimming switches are integrated to customize the light according to your mood. All furnishings are ergonomically designed to offer an ultimate understated luxury and functionality with clever storage underneath the bed and a combination of plaster and marble niche walls housing discreet technology features.

The crystal ice marble bathrooms include monolithic counters with curved out sinks and marble shower trays with rain shower heads.

For your visual and listening pleasure, a state of the art audiovisual center is installed throughout the space, easily controllable, incorporating Ipod docking stations, LG flat screen LCD Tvs, Dvds and high fidelity surround systems with integrated sub woofers that guarantee a wonderful sound experience.

A retractable work desk is available, fully outfitted for AC power access, including a plug and play docking for lap tops, digital cameras and Ipods.

Dining Facilities:

The ‘Belvedere Club’:  Beginning in summer 2008, George Calombaris, Australia’s most renowned Greek-Australian chef, takes flight with the opening of his first self- branded venture, “The Belvedere Signature Restaurant by George Calombaris”. Featuring a leading revival of the Greek cuisine, George has gained many awards including the Age Good Food Guide’s 2008 Best New Restaurant and Chef of the Year.  

Belvedere Bar:  Unique signature cocktails crafted by mixologist Dale de Groff, fascinating champagnes, selected wines, premium spirits, coffees and fresh fruit punches available from 11:00 to 03:00 (01:00 in low season).

Matsuhisa Mykonos:  Established in summer season 2004, Matsuhisa Mykonos is one of the exclusive ventures of the world’s most celebrated Japanese chef, Nobu Matsuhisa.  The menu fearlessly combines traditional Japanese techniques and ingredients from South America.  At the Belvedere Hotel, Nobu felt it would be the perfect opportunity, as well as the ideal setting, to introduce his own cuisine to this beautiful island.

Belvedere’s Cellar:  This is a visiting Wine Cellar of 450 different bins and approximately 5000 bottles, with a small wine library. Mainly orientated to the French and Greek vineyard, the wine selection is expanding significantly in the Californian, Italian and Australian vineyards, offering also important wines from other countries. Belvedere’s Wine List is awarded continuously since 2003 with the “Award of Excellence” from the American magazine “Wine Spectator”.
