Waihi Beach

An excursion to the highly popular Waihi Beach can be done as part of a round trip. Follow the signposted road east to Waihi Beach, where there is excellent swimming and surfing, then return via Athenree Gorge and Waimata. Route 4 can be joined by following SH2 south via Waimate and Katikati to Tauranga.
