Wairarapa

The Wairarapa region is reached by first travelling east through the Manawatu Gorge in the direction of Woodville. From here SH2 runs south through sheep and dairy farming country to the National
Wildlife Centre at Mount Bruce.

Another 6 miles (10km) south of the National Wildlife Centre is the Mt Bruce Pioneer Museum. It prides itself as being Wairarapa’s largest private museum with items ranging from waterwheels to gramophones.
