Costa Verde

The southwest coast in the state of Rio de Janeiro, called Costa Verde, is consisted of beautiful beaches, tropical vegetation, and spectacular mountains.

The scenic Green Coast, highway runs beside Costa Verde as well, connecting Rio to Sao Paulo. You will also find Parque Nacional da Serra da Bocaina, a lush, forested national park, along this green coast.

Several tropical islands sit off shore, and Costa Verde is home to numerous points to head out on boat excursions through the Atlantic.

The island of Ilha Grande is a nature reserve that features pristine beaches and an incredible natural environment. Along the Costa Verde, you will come across many hotels and restaurants, which traditionally serve fresh seafood.
