The outstanding beauty of the Adirondack Park can be viewed while traveling on the many waterways of the Lake Placid/High Peaks Region. The Adirondack Mountains are many, varied and massive with 46 peaks rising above 4,000 feet. The tallest are here in the Lake Placid/High Peaks Region and include Whiteface, Algonquin & Marcy. At 5,344 feet, Marcys summit is the highest point in New York State.

At Whiteface, you’ll find some of the best alpine skiing and snowboarding in North America. It has the greatest vertical drop this side of the Rockies and is the only ski area in the East to have hosted the Olympic Winter Games.
