On arrival, meet your representative and transfer to your hotel. Gather for a welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2: ZAGREB / The Stately Capital
This morning, take an afternoon tour of the Croatian capital. Walk the loveliest parts of Zagreb, seeing the National Theater, Mimara Museum and Academy of Arts and Sciences. Visit the Ban Jelacic Square, which divides the old town from the newer part of the city. Then ride a funicular, built in 1889, to reach the charming Upper Town quarter from Lower Town. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore your favorite parts of the capital.

Day 3: SPLIT / Plitvice Lakes
Drive to the coastal city of Split. En route, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Plitvice Lakes, where emerald forests surround 16 shimmering turquoise lakes linked by a series of breathtaking waterfalls. Enjoy lunch in this spectacularly scenic region before continuing to Split.

Day 4: BRAC / Source of Stone for the White House
Board a ferry to Brac, a Dalmatian island famous for its stone, used in Split,™s Diocletian Palace and the White House in Washington, D.C. Visit Bol, frequented by the rich and famous. Continue to Gornji Humac for lunch in an 800-year-old tavern. Stop in the settlement town of Skrip to visit the museum of Brac before your return ferry to Split.

Day 5: SPLIT / The Emperor,™s Palace
Tour Split, starting with the Palace of the Emperor Diocletian; Peristil Square, where he made speeches; and his mausoleum, now a church. Visit the old town,™s charming piazzas and later, take a private tour of the Mestrovic Gallery, led by its curator. Marvel at the 86 bronze, marble and wood sculptures fashioned by this talented artist. Finish with a visit of Riva, a coastal boardwalk lined with palm trees, to soak up the sun and views of the port and nearby islands.

Day 6: DUBROVNIK / The Culinary Road
Set out for Dubrovnik, stopping at Ston, world-renowned for its oysters. Meet a local fisherman and sample one of these tasty delights for a true Culinary Connection. Savor superb seafood at a local restaurant, and then continue along the PeljeÅ¡ac peninsula to a region renowned for its red wine. Visit winemaker Mike Grgich,™s birthplace, Trstenik, and his small winery. Continue to Dubrovnik.

Day 7: MONTENEGRO / Seaside Charms
Drive to marvelous Montenegro to visit the walled city of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as its 12th-century cathedral and charming Maritime Museum. Later drive to Boka Kotorska, the most southern fjord in Europe, where precipitous mountains rise from azure waters, and board a boat to the Baroque Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. Return to Dubrovnik.

Day 8: DUBROVNIK / The City Museum
Enjoy a morning tour of Dubrovnik. Proclaimed a city museum, by UNESCO, the Old Town is surrounded by impressive medieval stone walls and towers. Mingle with local traders and craftspeople in the its markets. Then, listen as a survivor of the Balkan War shares emotional memories of the conflict, for a very special Neighborhood Connection. Follow an afternoon at leisure with a farewell dinner tonight, entertained by a traditional klapa performance.
