With the exception of nearby Philipsburg (population approximately 930 persons), you will put anywhere from 30 to 50 miles of mountains, meadows, lakes and streams between yourself and any real evidence of civilization once you arrive at The Ranch. Whether you’re looking for big mountain adventure, peaceful strolls by Rock Creek,
relaxing spa treatments or all three, you’ve arrived at the right place. While we can’t take credit for the scenery, we have designed our guest ranch to offer a unique Western style of a luxury getaway. From the carefully decorated rooms in the Granite Lodge to the unforgettable ‘glamping’ experience’ in our Canvas Cabins.

Nature & Environment

The Ranch at Rock Creek comprises more than 6,600 acres (or approximately 10 square miles) of ranchland nestled at the base of the John Long Mountains and encompassing four miles of river frontage along Rock Creek. The Ranch borders the Deer Lodge National Forest with views of the Flint Creek Range to the east.

The land is diverse, featuring open meadows, high ridges, alpine lakes and rich creek bottom. The Ranch at Rock Creek provides a peaceful, natural environment for your enjoyment. As part of our efforts to maintain this atmosphere, we thank you for helping us keep motorized travel to a minimum.

We encourage guests to enjoy Montana’s fresh air and “Big Sky” while walking to and from activities. In addition, a mountain bike will be provided to each guest upon arrival. For your convenience, there are bicycle racks outside each Ranch building. Traditional shuttles are available upon request.

At the Granite Spa, we place the utmost value on bringing balance and rejuvenation to the mind, body and spirit. While the majority of your stay is packed with invigorating outdoor adventures, the Granite Spa offers a retreat for well-deserved rejuvenation and relaxation.

The Spa features treatment rooms and amenities directed at soothing sore muscles and hydrating parched skin. A cedar sauna is also available for Spa guests. Therapists and technicians specialize in customized massages and body treatments, facials and nail care.

The Blue Canteen is just one of the many perks of staying across the creek from the Granite Lodge. It is the perfect quiet spot for your mor-ning coffee or an afternoon board game in the sun with friends and family. Duly named by its many blue decorations

There are various special dining events at The Ranch on a weekly basis. These include our Dutch oven dinner on the Granite Lodge’s flagstone, Rodeo burger BBQ at the Blue Canteen and Chefs’ grill on the Granite Lodge’s flagstone.
