DAY 1
Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Your guide will meet you in Arusha and drive you two hours to the Marangu Gate at Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park. After completion of administrative formalities, you will begin you trek. This 4-5 hour hike is at a leisurely pace through the dense forest to your first hut.
At an elevation of 2700m, Mandara Hut is a group of wooden A-framed huts in a forest clearing. Each hut features 6-8 sleeping bunks with solar generated lighting. The total capacity of the camp is 60 climbers. Water is piped into the camp from springs above and there are flush toilets behind the main hut.

DAY 2
Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
After breakfast you hike roughly 45 minutes through the forest into the heather zone. You continue on through the high grasses and on into the Moorland. After about 5-6 hours you will have a view of Mawenzi Peak and your overnight hut.
Horombo Hut is a village of huts perched on a small plateau, with buildings similar to Mandara, but with a total capacity of 120 climbers. The camp is at 3720m and is normally bustling with hikers, guides, porters and with an atmosphere of adventure and excitement. You will meet both ascending and descending hikers here.

DAY 3
Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Today is an acclimatization day. You can relax and rest in order to help your body get accustomed to the elevation. An optional hike to Mawenzi Peak is a spectacular way to stretch your legs.

The camp is at 3720m and is normally bustling with hikers, guides, porters and with an atmosphere of adventure and excitement. You will meet both ascending and descending hikers here.

DAY 4
Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Today you trek across the alpine desert of the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi. You will stop at the last fresh water point (4300m) to fill your water bottles. You reach you hut after 6-7 hours of trekking. You have the afternoon to and rest prepare for the long night ahead. Eat and drinks as much as possible before retiring early to your tent for much needed sleep.
Situated in the barren Alpine desert at 4703m is Kibo Hut, a stone build block house which has bunk beds for 60 climbers, but no streams with water nearby. It is however possible to buy mineral water and soft drinks at the camp office. There are platform toilets behind the hut.

DAY 5
Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
A midnight wake up call will start your long day. After a hot drink you begin your final ascent winding through a path of seemingly endless switchbacks in the shadow of the Ratzel and Rebmann glaciers. At dawn, after around 6 hours of trekking you reach Gillman’s Point at 5685m on the crate rim. The steep trail turns into a gentle slope as you trek another 1.5 hours around the crater rim to the summit at Uhuru Peak. After a short time at the summit descend back to Kibo for some rest, then trek further down the mountain to Horombo Hut for the night. Total trekking time is 12-17 hours.

DAY 6
Depart
Descend straight to the Marangu Gate via a 6 hour trek. When you arrive, you will have lunch and receive your climbing certificate. You will be transfered back to Arusha.
