Museo de Insectos

The entrance to the Insect Museum, which is in the San Pedro section of the city, is through the main entrance of the faculty of musical arts. The inevitable and unanswered question is what do musicians and insects have in common? The museum has an excellent video showing superb close-up photographs and an explanation of the various phases of metamorphosis in the life of a caterpillar, from cocoon to butterfly, ending in spectacular colorful butterflies in all their variety. Afterwards, you can visit the collection of mariposas (butterflies) one floor below and learn more about these extraordinary creatures. A trip to the museum should include a walk through the extensive neighboring park.
