Day 2: Scottish Strongholds
Head to Edinburgh Castle with your local guide, who shows you the Scottish Crown Jewels. Drive down the Royal Mile, past St. Giles High Kirk, to Holyrood Palace, the Queen,™s official residence in Scotland. Provided no member of the royal family is in residence at the time, you have a chance to tour the staterooms. Scotland is the home of whisky, and you might want to pay an optional private visit to the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, where an expert on Scotch whisky guides you through a tutored tasting.

Day 3: Stirlingshire
Drive to the ancient stronghold of Stirlingshire, where Scotland,™s destiny was formed. Here, the armies of William Braveheart, Wallace defeated invading English forces in 1297. See its grand apartments and Great Hall as well as the majestic Stirling Castle and Chapel Royal, where Mary was crowned Queen of Scots. Continue to Bannockburn and the scenic mountains, forests and lakes of the Trossachs region, home of Rob Roy MacGregor. You may also view Loch Katrine from the decks of the historic SS Sir Walter Scott. Return to Edinburgh by late afternoon.
