History
Ellenborough Park as an estate has been described as a ‘pretty manor place’ in 1533 by the King’s Antiquary and in 1796 as “one of the greatest curiosities in the country” by Samuel Rudder. The main house is mostly early sixteenth century with priceless masonry and woodwork which gives the building old-world charm. Amendments have been made over the past 500 years and this has created a truly unique country house hotel.
The Hotel
Ellenborough Park is an ancient house on the original Cheltenham racecourse estate and has been beautifully restored to reflect its long history of over 500 years. The country house hotel is situated at the highest point of the Cotswold hill range making it ideal for hikes and walking trips. Views from the hotel look out upon 90 acres of parkland including the private track across fields to Cheltenham Racecourse.
The hotel has 62 rooms in total, types include Traditional, Classic, Luxury, De Luxe and four Suites. Some rooms include four poster beds and sprawling views, others feature marble-bedecked bathrooms, roll-top baths and all rooms include Noble Isle amenities.
The Spa at Ellenborough Park includes a Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a range of treatments. Ranging from revitalising facials and massages to created spa experiences, developed to provide an escape from the stresses of busy lifestyles.
Ellenborough Park Hotel
The Great Hall is ideal for Afternoon Tea during the day, early evening cocktails and after diner night caps. The room includes antique chandeliers, log fire and the Minstrels Gallery which spans one entire end of The Great Hall.
The Beaufort Dining Room, the 3 AA rosette awarded restaurant features oak-panelled walls and original fireplaces whilst the menus hand crafted by David Kelman showcases the best local producers and deliver a true taste of Cotswolds cuisine. The Brasserie, a casual and more informal venue is decorated in a sporting theme featuring the famous Cresta Run. The menu includes fine homely food and uses inspiring flavors from all local counties.
