The Experience

Laucala Island Resort

“Bau nanuma na nodatou Lasa”

“Beautiful moments that last for eternity”

Is an expression out of an old Fijian folksong, which has become one of our core mottos of Laucala Island. If you are searching for a paradise lost you can’t do better than to follow your dreams. For those who do, islands symbolize the perfect counterbalance or escape for your holiday. We would like to welcome you to Laucala Island in the South Sea archipelago of Fiji.

Laucala Island is a perfect island escape, for those who seek the total luxury of privacy and space, relaxing ambience, enjoying culinary delicacies, yet being sportive active. Anything is possible on Laucala – playing a round of golf, cycling the island, game fishing, diving or sailing the turquoise waters or being pampered in the spa.

Only twenty-five villas widely spread on the northern tip of the island, each with its own swimming pool, leaving ample space giving the most privacy you can imagine. Seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living creates an inspiringly relaxed yet luxurious atmosphere.

Not only are we a resort – we set a high value in taking a holistic approach of self sustainability in growing all fruits and vegetables on our own farms; breeding poultry and cattle, making our own honey and bottling the purest volcanic mineral water, baking our own breads – providing the best quality of produce possible for our restaurants.

We offer our guest ‘cuisine à la Laucala’ in four different restaurants beginning from degustation dinners in the colonial Plantation House Restaurant, Asian influenced dining in the tree tops of the Seagrass Lounge or barbeques at the beach.

Mountain sides, cliff tops white sandy beaches and turquoise waters – this awaits you on Laucala.

Moce Mada as we say…

Villas

The art of living in harmony with nature without renouncing the conveniences of modern comfort finds its highest expression. All our villas captivate visitors with their clear commitment to the natural environment and Fijian traditions. With their remarkable combination of vast space, exclusively designed interiors, natural materials, luxurious comfort, they create wonderfully inspiring surroundings for sophisticated travelers. The twenty five villas are spread out in unique locations, differing quite a bit yet providing varying atmospheres. Some are set in the former coconut plantation, some the Seagrass Bay and on the Nawi Hill.

The characteristic villa Wai is built on stilts in the lagoon and the Peninsula villa crowns the tip of the peninsula island.

Senses

Romantic candlelight dinners on the private beach, fine dining in the elegant Plantation House Restaurant, authentic special Asian delicacies in the Seagrass Restaurant, a spectacular Sundowner cocktail in the Rock Lounge, avant-garde finger food in the Pool Bar, or a barbecue in the Beach Bar that captures the tropical atmosphere.  The broad variety of culinary rarities fulfils your every wish, as do the specially selected wines. The superbly stocked wine cellar and the wine lover’s treasure trove makes the connoisseur’s heart beat faster.  Whether it’s that great Burgundy, that morning cup of coffee, a fragrant croissant or the formal dinner, only the best is good enough for cuisine a la Laucala.

Golf

While this resort was being built, the main aim was to preserve its original character.  The architect of the 18-hole championship-standard golf course found this task a particular challenge. The result was a uniquely scenic golf course set against the impressive scenery of the luxuriant green mountains which has been carefully integrated into the old plantation area.  Demanding fairways, well-developed greens, elaborately situated bunkers, unbelievable views out to the sparkling tides of the Pacific Ocean and natural rock formations ensure that not only keen, experienced golfers but also occasional players and beginners can also make it their game.  This is all the more the case now that one of the most able professionals in the game offers the golfing guests with advice and practical assistance.

Activities

Laucala shows its most ethereal side in an iridescent kaleidoscope of sporting and cultural activities. Diving in a unique underwater world, rain forest tours, horseback riding, yachting, golfing on the 18-hole championship course, or meeting native artists – everything is possible on Laucala.  But smaller guests are catered for as well. On Laucala the kids’ club with its demanding programme is just as much a matter of course as the five thousand square metre pool and premium spa.  Living on Laucala just means “going with the flow”!

Wellness

On Laucala your soul collects magic moments like sea shells: While you watch the sun disappearing beyond the horizon, while the silver moon scatters its rays over the sandy beach and Aquarius is playing with his diamonds, the wellness expert’s magic hands open up the energy centres of your body and your soul floats on cloud nine in the Spa Suites.  And when you experience one of the specially designed, relaxing highlights based on the natural resources of this island with that special someone in your life, your dreams will have finally come true.
