The Experience
The official Indian capital since 1911, New Delhi stands on the Yamuna River on the western end of the gangetic plain in Northern India. Continuously inhabited since the 6th century, Old Delhi and New Delhi are no longer separate cities but are now a seamless, vibrant entity with many layers of history and culture. Located on the edge of Lutyen’s Delhi and ten minutes from Connaught Place in the heart of the city, The Lodhi is easily accessible from the Indira Gandhi international airport, some 25 kilometers and 40 minutes away. Many international and local carriers have daily flights to and from New Delhi.
Climate
With five distinct seasons, including the monsoon which usually arrives in July each year, the favorite time for travel and sightseeing in Northern India is from early October until late April. At the height of the short winter, between December and January, days are crisp and sunny and nights can be chilly. During this time, temperatures typically range from a high of 23°C (73°F) to an overnight low of approximately 2°C (36°F).
Language
There are many distinct languages and dialects in India with English and Hindi being the most prevalent.
Accommodation
The Lodhi’s 40 rooms and suites are located in an elegant nine-storey, two winged structure. All were extensively renovated with Delhi based architects, Design Plus, in 2012 to reflect a contemporary flair with extensive use of local materials. Rooms and suites have their own private plunge pool and extensive balconies.
The 12 Lodhi DeLuxe Rooms are located on the 2nd to 4th floor. The rooms offer view over the hotel courtyard. Lodhi Deluxe Rooms have spacious seating areas ideal for relaxing after a hard day of working, sightseeing or shopping
The 15 Lodhi Premier Rooms are located from the 05th to 08th floor of the hotel. Located on the higher floors of The Lodhi, the Lodhi Premier Rooms are the most spacious and sought after rooms in the city. Indeed, they are much bigger than many of the suites on offer in other luxury properties in Delhi.
The 2 Lodhi Suites are on floors 1-2 and measure 2400 square feet in area. These two bedroom suites are very spacious with an entrance foyer, living room and dining area along with a personal plunge pool and two separate bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and closets.
The 2 Lodhi Deluxe Suites are on 3rd and 4th floor of the hotel
. These 02 Bedroom Suites measuring 2400 square feet are amongst the most spacious suites in the city.
The 4 Lodhi Premier Suites are located from the 05th to 08th floor of the hotel. These Suites offer best views overlooking to the golf course and to Humayun’s Tomb with Nizamuddin Village in the background.
Dining
The ELAN restaurant and Bar offer informal and comfortable dining, both in terms of decor and menu’s. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers an eclectic range of fresh and seasonal menu options with an emphasis on the best of regional India, Mediterranean and Southeast Asian dishes.
OTW (On the Waterfront) – OTW opens at noon until late for dining and enjoying drinks in a cosmopolitan atmosphere. With central kitchens on both floors, food ranges from pan Asian through the Middle East to European.
POOL CAFE – Next to the swimming pool on the Lower Ground Floor, the all weather, all day Pool Cafe is limited to Hotel Guests, Club Members and their friends.
ANIDRA – Anidra is a popular supper club and night club. Located downstairs from OTW, Anidra can be accessed from the front of the building or through the entrance adjacent to the hotel foyer. Best ‘late at night’.
THE SPA & SALON
The Lodhi Spa offers seclusion, tranquility and a wide range of therapies and rituals ranging from ayurvedic to contemporary international treatments. The eight spacious private rooms include steam, shower, bathtub, day beds and massage tables.
Separate male and female hammams with plunge pools of varying temperatures help dispel the rigors of travel and rejuvenate the body and mind.
The Salon, with its ten private treatment areas, has a range of hair treatments including cuttings and coloring, massage, manicures and pedicures and hair spa’s for women and men.
