Discover Porto, located on a steep hillside above the River Douro, and then explore the remote Douro Valley along roads that zigzag up and down mountainsides. Day 1: Porto
On arrival at Porto,™s airport, you are met by your Guardian Angel and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel. Your Guardian Angel assists with check-in and runs through your itinerary with you. The remainder of today is at leisure, for you to settle in to your hotel.

Day 2: Porto
Set out with your private guide on a half-day sightseeing tour of Porto, a city gloriously located on a steep hillside above the River Douro. Visit the Cais da Ribeira, the quayside of the fascinating Ribeira district, and some of the city,™s most beautiful monuments. They include the opulent 19th-century Stock Exchange and the St. Francisco Church. Afterward, sample some of the region,™s signature port at one of the famous port wine lodges. During your leisure time, you may want to browse the Lello Bookshop, known more for its amazing interior than its books. Admire the red curving staircase and the stained glass skylight, as well has the intricate wood carvings on the walls and ceilings.

Day 3: Douro Valley
The remote Douro Valley, where the hills fall steeply down to the water,™s edge, is port country. Travel with your guide and driver along roads that zigzag up and down mountainsides and between valleys to the Sandeman winery at Quinta do Seixo for a visit and wine tasting. Continue to the port of Pinhão to Casa de Mateus, designed by Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, the house is famously featured on the label of the well-known rosé wine.
