The Lodge, Verbier
The Lodge is the newest addition to Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition portfolio. This stunning nine bedroom chalet (including a specially designed bunkroom for up to 6 children) accommodating a total of 18 guests is located in Verbier, Switzerland, one of the Alp’s most exclusive resorts and Europe’s hottest ski spots. Situated on a quiet road just 250m from the main ski lifts and backing onto one of the returning pistes, The Lodge is in a perfect location for the slopes.
Verbier is located in south-western Switzerland. Travel time from Geneva to The Lodge is roughly two hours and Geneva Airport is served by all of the major international carriers. Private planes can land at Sion Airport, approximately 45 minutes by car from The Lodge. You can also travel by train from Geneva to the chalet which takes about 2 hours. We’ll be happy to make your transfer arrangements from the airport for you.
Verbier is not only the ideal choice for a luxury ski holiday – it is also the perfect alpine summer escape. Verbier is home to a well-equipped sports centre, with large indoor and outdoor swimming pools, squash and tennis facilities and a professional covered ice rink. There are golf courses galore in the area, unrivaled paragliding and endless biking and hiking trails for all abilities.
Party Area:
It’s certainly time to let your hair down in the party room! You can shoot some pool or dance the night away to thumping tunes all underneath a twinkling disco ball. If you want to take it easy we can pop on a film for you and your friends or family while you enjoy a few drinks from the bar.
Indoor pool and Jacuzzi:
Relax those aching muscles in the 12-person Jacuzzi after a day out – it’s heaven! Or just refresh yourself with a dip in our 9m heated indoor pool.
Steam Room:
If you want to relax at the end of the day you can let off some steam in our steam room. It’s also a great way to purify your skin.
Gym:
Need a little more stamina? Visit the gym and work out on the treadmill, bike, cross trainer and free weights station. We’ve even got a plasma screen TV, DVD player and music system to keep you entertained.
Virgin Touch Spa Treatment Room:
After an active day on the slopes or hiking in the mountains, there’s a good chance your muscles will be aching after all that effort. Relax and unwind with a treatment in the Virgin Touch Spa in the capable hands of our resident beauty therapist; ask for a detailed list of all our treatments. Treatments are not included in the normal rates.
Dining/Lounge Area:
There’s no better way to enjoy a meal than to gather around our large dining table for some good food and good company. After dinner you can toast a few marshmallows on the log fireplace or sink into large comfy sofas with a nice cup of hot chocolate before bed…or even something stronger if you like, and enjoy the amazing views through the glass sliding doors leading out to the terrace.
Outdoor Terrace/Jacuzzi:
You can enjoy the fresh mountain air on the terrace, or even enjoy some bubbles in the Jacuzzi. In summer there’s also a BBQ and bar area and there’s even croquet on the lawn.
Ice Rink:
If you think your child could be a candidate to join the stars in ‘Dancing on Ice’, why don’t you send them for a twirl on our mini ice-rink during winter?
Food and Drink:
Foodies are very welcome at The Lodge, and our open plan kitchen is a great place to watch the chef working his magic. You might even pick up some tips! You can dine either at the breakfast bar, at the dining table, or even outside on the terrace when the weather is nice. We stock a great range of international wines, top quality spirits, international beers and excellent house Champagne. All guests are encouraged to treat The Lodge like their own home so they are welcome to help themselves to anything they want at any time.
Children:
The Lodge is a great place for a family holiday in both summer and winter as we have plenty of things for children to do. Children of all ages will be invited to take part in The Lodge Rangers. We have a set welcome pack and range of great activities available on request, including children’s DVDs, toys, an Xbox, books, games, and treasure hunts in the evenings if they are not too tired after a long day out. Depending on the season, we can arrange ski instructors specifically with children’s needs in mind, skating parties on The Lodge’s ice rink, and in summer there’s tennis, biking, walking, swimming, and much more!
The Lodge has a kid’s bunkroom which can accommodate six children. We can also arrange babysitting for an extra charge; just give us at least 24 hours notice. Please note that during peak weeks and school holidays, we may need more notice to ensure that we can get hold of babysitters. Special food and beverages or simple snacks and light meals can be prepared.
Activities:
Summer in Verbier is amazing as temperatures soar as high as 26°C / 79°F. Serious adrenaline junkies can enjoy a plethora of activities from paragliding and rock climbing to mountain biking, hiking and horse riding. There’s also an 18-hole golf course and sports centre with tennis courts nearby.
All alpine adventures are organized by The Lodge’s very own activities coordinator. The Lodge is also close to the Italian and French borders, so there are day trip possibilities galore.
Verbier is known as one of the world’s most popular winter resorts and part of the “Four Valleys” ski area, which includes the ski resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz, and Thyon. There are plenty of runs for people of all abilities and experienced skiers can ski into the back of Chalet. The team at The Lodge will drive guests back and forth from the main ski lifts each day, a mere 10 minute walk (in ski boots) from the chalet.
